my moms comp won't let me run any virus scans or anything on it. it just keeps going to the blue screen a few seconds after windows loads. she wasn't running any antivirus and got something bad, now it just keeps shutting down. i loaded spybot on there but didn't have time to put anything else on. now i need to know how to get some antivirus on there to scan it before that shit comes up. she has tried safe mode, booting normally, and last known configuration and they all fuck up.
can anyone help __________________

use a boot disk. google "ultimate boot disk" or something like that. make sure its fairly recent.... there's some old ass versions out there.
burn that to a bootable cd. enter yoru bios, and make sure that the CD is the first OS look up device (or at least before the 1st hdd) and run some tools. recovery consoel sucks and i would avoid it if at all possible. |

how do you get in to change it to boot the cd first? is it in the advanced startup options?
