I am DL'ing a few discographies on demonoid.com, but they are .rar files. how do i change them to mp3? Isn't a .rar like a .zip? Do i need winrar?

I believe rar is kinda like zip files.

you need to download a rar program to decode them.

yeah i think i'm gonna buy it. the one i dl'ed has all the text in another language, but isn't subtitled. it's still annoying though, and i want to watch it in better quality, it gets on my nerves

Hey can i make a regular audio cd from .wma files or do they have to be mp3. BTW i use Nero, will it do this?

Umm, i thought i was dumb with computers.

RAR = archive format like a ZIP file.

other popular forms are TAR, ACE, and SIT

-> think of ZIP as the windows version of compressing files. rar, Tar, ace, and sit are other versions.

.zip isn't the "windows" version of the archives... if anything, that's the .cab file. .zip was created by PKWare way back in the command line days as a competitor to the .arc format. Now it's just popular enough that M$ has made Winblowz XPee support it out of the box.

wma's suck. shit quality, regardless of the bitrate, they all suck.

if idownload somethign thats a wma, i delete it and look for a different version.
