From the Wii menu go to the message board and hit create message, then go to address book. You can put someones Wii number in your address book and use that to connect with them and play games. Kinda like a friends list.

I haven't played the Wii or 360 in quite a while now. I even got Mario Kart and Monopoly for Christmas and haven't taken them out of the shrinkwrap yet. I really want to try the new Punchout though.
