I've played more Tiger Woods in the last few months than I have any CoD. That will change once I get my copy of MW3 though I am sure. Not having DLC really only becomes a problem when you play regularly with a group that all have the DLC.

Reading more I see that the maps on this release are just the old zombie maps from previous releases that were already in the Hardened and Prestige editions? And a new Zombie map on the moon. Meh Maybe I wont be buying them. I dont even play zombies.

thats why i dont buy games much anymore. im tired of all these mandatory updates and price gouging.

capcom released street fighter 4 for 59.99 and less than a year later released super street fighter 4. basically a huge patch,which required you to rebuy the entire fucking game at 39.99. then they just released super street fighter 4 arcade edition (around a year later), which is another fucking patch for 14.99. now they are speaking of releasing ANOTHER FUCKING PATCH!!

they also released Marvel vs Capcom 3 for 59.99, and not barely a year later, they're doing the same thing with street fighter, and releasing ULTIMATE Marvel vs Capcom 3, which is basically a patch as well, that of course you have to pay for.

at this point, im refusing to buy capcom games for a while. lastly, im not sure which company it is, but they are making games ONE TIME buyers only. basically, there is a code and once its used, no one else can use it anymore and its integral to the gameplay. if the original buyer sells it used, the second person has to repurchase the game code or live without the features.

Black ops map packs arent mandatory and you can still play online just the same as the day you bought it. You just don't play the new maps. It's all optional.

werd.. and i dont buy them.. if i have points from a gift or something i'll use those.. only games i really play are Forza and COD, so i dont spend much on games.. those 2 keep me occupied

i should've clarified and separated the mandatory updates from price gouging. fighting games have optional costumes instead of map packs for purchase, but unlike map packs where you get to play new levels (maps if you prefer) and possibility a different type of game play, costumes just make your character cooler?

regardless, i just hate the updates that apparently do absolutely nothing for the games or the system. the ps3 always wants to update and then when i finish, i get a notice to update the game. i dont game very often so when i do, im usually pelted with at least 2 updates per session when i do turn on the freaking system.

they should just make updates optional and not a requirement. and maybe its just me, but the advent of updates seem to allow publishers to release broken games and promise "fixes" later.

Anyhoo, the CoD patches actually do fix things and change things. The patch they put on Second Chance actually makes it bearable in team games...

i find the patches to be way annoying, especially the system updates. maybe its just the ps3 though? i have a wii and almost never had to install any patches? granted its not "hardcore gamer" oriented, i still find the PS3 updates to be overwhelming and useless.

Well, like you said though, if you play it very infrequently then you may have one or even multiple ones every time you go to play. Lots of us play CoD every day though, so I don't think of them as frequent.

And yeah, I don't even know if they bother patching the Wii version. Not nearly as many players and the players are much more casual, so it's probably not worth it...
