Default 1990 pm5?

Hey guys,
I've been reading about this shit for a bit... it's my understanding that the 88-89 PM5 ecu is a son of a bitch to tune because of the lack of an external eprom. I have a PM5 ecu but it's a 1990, and when I open it there is the spot for the 28(?)pin and it says "EPROM" right on the board in the middle of the pin holes... Can these PM5's be tuned or are they still useless? I was considering using it as my guinea pig in case my first attempt at soldering an ecu doesn't go well

Thanks!!!!!!

I thought that the PM-5 is only for the DX or throttle body injection, NOT the multi-port injection..?
I just had to replace mine, i fried it by touching a wrench to the POS+ side of the battery.
Just for kicks, I opened it up and had a look-see if anything was burnt and did see what you are talking of but I don't think that you can do anything with them except for a DPi.
