2000 Honda Civic EX
Maybe someone can help or has information I need.
Recently purchased 2000 Civic EX AT, the D16Y8 (Vtec) stock engine has been swapped to a D16Y7 Civix LX (Non-Vtec) engine. My problem is that failed emmissions testing due to Vtec error codes. Both engines are OBD2b. Would replaceing ECU with a LX solve the problem or wiring harness conversion for this application work, or is there a wiring conversion harness for this type of engine swap. |

Who the f put a y7 in there and why?? Do you still have the y8 and why was it swapped out? If it was because of a bad rod bearing just put the y8 head on the y7 block and make a mini me out of it. Then your problem with the wrong ecu is solved and you essentially have a y8.
