Default Computer Questions from my 95 lude swap

I swapped a F22b DOHC engine into '95 h23a1 prelude w/auto trans.
I was told this should work alright but I am having some running issues.
I'm wondering how the computers work, the engine came from a 92 manual car now its in a car with a auto computer. I was wondering if this computer/cams don't like each other. Can I take the chip from the 92 manual and put it into my 95 auto or does the chip inside the ecu control the automatic's shift point and torque converter lockup. I don't know how the honda ecu's work internally that well yet. Any help appreciated!

you need a 5 speed ecu, also stock chips are sodder into place, 5 speed and auto ecus guts are different.

so the computer is different. is the chip different too. i've seen aftermarket chips so I assume they are changeable.
my problem is fixed. the timing was actually off so after the engine was timed properly it runs great.

well glad to hear the problems fixed, sorry I misread your first post, I thought you swaped the manual tranny with the motor. stay away from aftermarket chips they mess shit up. manual and auto ecus have some different peices on the inside of them. also was your h23a1 vtec or not?

[edit] H23A1

The H23A1 was an increased-stroke, non-VTEC version of the H22a, designed for the North American and UK market 1992–1996 Honda Prelude Si. It shared the same Fiber Reinforced Metal (FRM) cylinder wall liners with the H22a.
Specifications
  • Bore x Stroke: 87.0 x 95.0 mm (3.74 in)
  • Displacement: 2258 cc (138 cu. in.)
  • Valve Configuration: DOHC, 16 valves
  • Type: In-line 4 cylinder, aluminum block and head
  • Compression ratio: 9.8:1
  • Max power: 160 hp (119 kW)
  • Max torque: 163ft·lbf (207 Nm)
  • Redline: 6500 rpm
  • Engine Control System: Honda Systems PGM-FI with port fuel injection
