Default d16z6 into 00 civic hx

can i use the z6 obd1 engine, head, and im with my hx obd2 harness, obd2 ex ecu, and my hx distributor? will that work or cause a bunch of crap or can i use just the obd1 z6 vtec head with my y5 im and my hx distributor, and the obd2 ecu? would that be better? i just was thinking of putting a reg. vtec head on the vtec-e, and i am getting an entire ex motor and tranny for almost nothing. please shoot me some advice or i will just sell the other motor for the 96-00 v-tec head?

If you're looking for a power upgrade that's not the right way to go about doing it.
