| Junior Member | I bought a jdm vtec d15b engine for my 94 honda civic lx. The engine came with the wiring harness cut and my old one doesnt plug up exactly. Does anyone know what or how I need to re wire my new engine? I have a jdm vtec ecu p08 in the mail. Do I need to wait for the ecu to start wiring the car? The mechanin where my car is says I need to order a new harness, is this true or do I just need to re-wire a few sensors? |

| Senior Member | use your stock harness. Do not cut it up more than you have to. you will need to run 1 wire from the vtec solenoid to the ECU in order to activate vtec. You might need to run 1 wire to the ECU from the vtec pressure switch but I vaguely remember P08 ECUs not looking for this. KEEP YOUR STOCK HARNESS IN ONE PIECE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE!!! If your distributor plugs do not match up, you may want to just swap the distributors (i.e. use the one on your LX motor on the D15B) This should be a relatively easy wiring job. Don't stress.
