| Senior Member | I have an 88 Crx Si with a first gen B16 swap. It is throwing code 23, which I know is for a knock sensor. I have tried resetting the ecu, which cleared the code until the car got to normal operating temp. After that it came back on. What else should I check? I'm running a PR3 ecu, can I just unhook the knock sensor, or does it need the signal from it? I would like to get this resolved quickly after driving the car without the code and seeing how it is supposed to run. Thanks in advance. |

| RETIRED | unplugging it will throw the code constantly. you should be fosuing on WHY its going off. setting off a knock sensor at idle is a BAD thing. |

| Senior Member | Not certain that it's going off at idle. I just know that after resetting the ecu it came back on when the car warmed up (while driving). Where should the knock sensor be grounded? I just want to doulble check the wiring, as I bought the car with swap already done. Any other common causes of this code? edit: Or should it even be grounded at all? |
