Default A Newb Question From newb

Ok, so since Ive never looked at buildin a D series until now, Ive got a question about wiring on a Mini-me. This is all in a 1990 Civic BTW. Wouldnt I just need to run the wires for the VTEC solenoid, since the car already has a D15 in it? Or are there additional sensors on the D16?

you will have to wire the vtec solonoid, but you will also need a vtec ecu to trigger the vtec solonoid

Ya, should be 1 wire for the VTEC solenoid valve (this activates the VTEC) and another wire for the Valve Timing Oil Pressure switch (this tells the ECU that oil pressure in the head is high enough for VTEC to be safely actived). VTEC is decided by RPM but the ECU also references road speed, oil pressure and coolant temperature.

Is the car mpfi or dpfi? If it's mpfi, then all you need to do is wire vtec and possibly for a 4 wire o2. If it's dpfi, then you gotta do the conversion as well.

edit: just realized this is months old. hope you figured it out already!
