Tuning question: At Vtec switch over are the low and high maps summed or does it switch from one map to the other?

most software has 4 maps...
low cam fuel
hi cam fuel
low cam ignition
hi cam ignition

and it switches from low to high pair maps, and of course, throttle presure comes in and all the good stuff, which is why there is low cam above vtec, and hi cam below vtec engagement point
