ok i gat gat this 93 hb it looks like a si it has a d16z6 in it but vtec will not kick in what I was wondering could there be some thing wrong with the wiring or what should I look for as far as a problem

every thing is the way it should be i kinda fell the vtec at 4800-5000 AND NO CODES MAYBE I AM use to a b16a so it fell like the vtec is not working and it does have 180k miles on it so is the vtec so weak am these motor that i can't even tell if it kicks in or not
