Best bang for the buck in the CRX is probably going to be the H22. Fitment is tight, but it's a great swap for that car. It'll be fast enough for you.

Stick a small block V8 in that Rex! its an even tighter fit than the H22 but you wanna talk about speed for cheap! (disregard that, im just bored. Proceed.)

you should sell me your CRX and go wrap something else around a tree with your "fast accelerating high top speed car for cheep" project.

If you have the money, build a B series.. easily 300+ hp with a turbo. Or build the stock D15/D16 in your car and still make 200-300 hp for a couple grand. Good luck either way. | |

Yes, because you really need to be cruising along at 160mph in a tin can. Absolutely. If you don't have enough to build it, you certainly don't have enough to build it right. A stock crx Si is capable of 130+mph. You want to go faster than that, you're going to need to start looking into safety stuff.. real tires, brakes, cages, etc.. Lots of cash that has nothing to do with making it faster.. Just leave it alone and enjoy it. If you want a monster, save up and build it right. Last edited by phyregod; 05-06-2009 at 09:55 PM.

There is still opium around here, I think, not that I care though. Thank you for the advice about the p29 pistons, I will do that. I am going to the machine shop tomorrow to get the block hot-tanked and checked. If everything goes as planned, I will have the mechinist bore the block to 75.5mm (20 thou over), then I will be buying a rebuild kit and a gasket kit and starting my build. The link to my build is: 89' CRX D16a6 (Detailed) Rebuild Write Up LOTS OF PICS!! I am trying to get a lot of pics posted, but the site has a problem with posting more than 5pics, so I am trying to figure out how to get more up. Again many thanks for the advice.
