Default 50+ HP for 35 Bucks!

I recently have been looking for a way to get more horsepower. Ive got a Del Sol with a B18C1. I thought about swapping out my pistons and rods for a set of nippon racing ITR's and getting a more aggressive cam, maybe skunk2 stage 2, get some headwork done to increase my redline a few hundred RPM's. BUT SCREW ALL THAT. I found the solution to all my horsepower needs. It's called the Turbonator.. the turbonator is a non-moving vortex generator that goes inside your air intake hose, right after your air filter. I know what your thinking, we've seen these before. The cyclone, the twister, the tornado. But there's one big difference, the Turbonator has patented "Flow Thru" Technology. It even says on the site Turbonator.com - Official Site. "The Turbonator, and it's superior design, can increase your horsepower up to 55 HP and your MPG up to 33%!" And it's even easy to install, in fact "one of Turbonator.com's employees gave one, with the included instructions, to his fourteen year old daughter who installed it in under five minutes!"

I was skeptical at first but I went ahead and bought one, Installed it in a record 3 minutes and 12 seconds and the improvement was astronomical. My car is very mildly modded, (skunk2 intake, greddy header and exhaust, cai, wrapped headers,) After installing the turbonator my car felt like I had dropped in a Nelson racing twin turbo Big Block. I was so impressed, that I bough another. That's right, now I have a TWIN TURBONATED B18C1 The results are below

I took a cruise in my car and ran into John Shepherd testing his prototype for next years season and we just happen to be at a stop light... I revved on him and he looked at me and laughed like I was a retard. Well he didn't laugh when the light turned green. I let him get a head start, after he got a few car lengths away I dropped the clutch. The acceleration made me almost lose consciousness, but not enough to notice that I was pulling so hard off the line that my front wheels where 3 feet off the ground. Yes my car is FWD, that's how hard I PULLED!! My car immediately started to catch up and the surge of air going into my intake was so strong that John's car actually disintegrated and got sucked into my engine as I was passing him. He must have been running a hell of a lot of nitrous because the sudden boost felt like there was a million rockets pushing me forward. I accelerated so quickly that when I got home and turned on the news there was a breaking story about how the rotation of the earth had been sped up 200mph at exactly the time when I raced Shep. I didn't want the days to be sped up because shit, I had to get up in a few hours for work! So I got on a deserted road and accelerated in the opposite direction to nullify the effects of my street race I'm pretty sure that fixed everything because my analog clock seems to be dead on every day since.
For those of you wondering John Shephard was able to escape before the horrible tragedy of his car getting sucked into my intake. I talked to him the other day and he was so impressed he let me see his new build. I looked under the hood and it was a stock DSM motor, Stock internals, stock turbo, everything, Except the recent edition of QUAD Turbonators. The car is rumored to run the 1/4 mile in under 3 seconds and break the sound barrier twice!!

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it! :-)

Wtf, sounds like a sale pitch. I don't want to buy it now cuz I don't like the tone in which you describe it. it makes me weary.

I would have to say it would almost belong in the kill stories section because most everything there is a joke.

After more reading It's stroked out to 4.8 liters. But still, that's pretty cool. I never heard of that until you said something. I found it pretty quick with google. I'd love to see that car run down the track, I wonder what it sounds like.

it kinda sounds like a drag car. I was watching a show about that a while back. I love how the b18 is stroked out to a 286 ci motor. That is like a small v8. That is simply crazy.

i know it doesnt give 55 horsepower ... but do they cause any gains in power or efficiency?

Popular Mechanics tested a bunch of these gimmicks. The results were pretty poor, all of them lowered HP and were less fuel efficient. Looking For A Miracle: We Test Automotive 'Fuel Savers' - Popular Mechanics

the only thing close to these models that actually improves power or mileage are the throttle body spacers that have the grooves cut into the metal that vortex the air.

i read that PM article ( I am subscribed to PM and PS btw) and i am skeptic ... the article said that you generally should be trying to reduce turbulence and obstructions ... not increase them. Why do automotive companies not already use said gadgets if they miraculously defy the laws of physics and increase your power or efficiency?!?!

that is the part that made me realize it the most. what makes these little po-dunk businesses so much greater at engineering than teams of automotive geniuses who do research and conduct studies to find exactly such great little power boosts, that the engine manufacturers haven't already put it into production on all their engines??
