i have a b16 that is make is a popping sound through my stock exhaust. y is that? will timing make that happen??

also, when i am driving my car normally, the car seem to want to break down, is this also due to timing? some guy just change my timing for me and im not sure if its timed correctly. one example, im driving normally and suddenly i see my tach jump up than down(from 2500 to 4000+ than 1000 and after that i need to build up speed again). i seen it jump up b4 and thought its just the vss but i never seen it go down. when it jump down, i my car felt like shit and i can barely drive the car then it goes back to normal after the bogg. i am scare to drive it. whats going on.?

did i blow up my motor???? HELP
