Its all good. But yeah everything is up there in price when it comes to fully building the motor and as far as that goes money is of no object. I see this as my entertainment. I don't go out to eat, or to the movies, and I happen to be very lucky and have a girlfriend who understands this is what I love to do. So buying parts is my entertainment. lol

If I told you that money was no object to me I would be lying my ass off. haha After my hours got cut, it became an issue. It's okay though because like yourself, I don't really care to go out much or do much more outside the house. Yes, I don't have a life. haha On the girlfriend side, she is quasi-understanding because she used to own quite the built up Mustang. She still gives me shit and I tell her she's only giving me shit because both cars are manual and she will not drive either of them.

This build has been very entertaining thus far and I am not very far along with it. Most importantly, it has been very educational and mentally stimulating. I love learning new things, especially when they pertain to things I like to do.

yeah well I can also kinda put this under the education factor because I do plan on being a mechanic. And yeah money is an object cause I have a car payment, insurance, and save for school. But past that I work on my car, and she understands cause she loves my car. She wants me to teach her how to work on cars. She seriously sits and takes notes on stuff I teach her.

That is AWESOME! I only wish I were able to work on my car like yourself. At times I do help out my mechanic on the little things, hoping to learn. Since he doesn't work at a shop, he is able to teach me things here and there. The man is very knowledgeable. That's also really cool that your girlfriend wants to learn and understands that is what you like to do.

As soon as I am finally able to get my second job, I too will be hunting down a school to possibly learn mechanics, as since I was little, my dad and I used to work on his cars together. If he only lived closer we would work on mine together too.

Sweet Lord, I would just like to take the time to thank you for what I have run into today. I really hope that this goes through for me because if it does, my build is going to take off like a straight guy at a gay rally. Amen. :D

On that note, to anyone that might be interested, my JDM B16 block with Eagle Rods is officially for sale. I do have pictures if you would like to request them. The block is missing the alternator and timing belt covers or hitch or ugh! I can't remember what it's called! Anywho, offers will be considered. I paid $400 for it. Low ballers will be shot in the face with a bazooka. Reasonable offers however, will be listened to. Thank you. :D

I just had to replace my power steering belt today and tighten my underdrive pulley so she got to see how that is done. But cars are suprisingly easy to work on its just a matter of doing it and doing the research to know how to do it. I have taught myself how to do brake jobs which I have since gotten paid to do, I have rebuilt power steering pumps, pulled pistons, replaced cams, of course bolted on headers, cat-backs, intakes, all that good stuff. cv axles, head gaskets, replaced alternators, batterys, starters, fuel injectors, done tune ups. Most of this stuff I simply went out and did and learned along the way. which is the best way for me to learn I am very visual. So you have a hatch that the b-series is going in and an lx that the z6 is in?

That is correct...for now. haha Things could change whenever the builds are done, but the plan right now is to build the B, put it in the hatch and build the other Z6 and put it in the sedan, which already has a Z6 of it's own.

I wish I had a place to work on my car and knowledgeable people to learn from. If my dad lived closer, we would be all over it like white on rice.

I told this to Blanco and Calesta before that I am able to help someone make their car go fast, but as far as helping them stop...yeah, good luck with that. haha I'm just now learning about brakes.

For all of you "brake" minded people out there, I do have a technical question. My mechanic told me that there are three CRX's which he is able to pull parts from. He was able to acquire the entire braking system from two of them, which are disc brakes. My question to all is whether or not these will be a good idea to install on both my EG sedan and EK hatch. The price is very right, as I am almost getting them for free. I am just not sure whether or not, since Blanco did point out that the diameter of the rotor is 1mm less than regular and Calesta said that they might not fit because of a a shorter umm, something arm. Let me know if anyone has done this before on their Civics and whether it would be a good idea to upgrade the rear brakes with such. Thanks.

I'm thinking it should be fine on the hatch similar hose lengths and such as for the smaller rotors...and size of the control arms...That I am not sure about. If you can make it work I would say go for it. all wheel disc brakes are something that any car with power should want.

I called my mechanic today and told him what Blanco and Calesta said about it. He said not to worry, that he would check it out and if it works properly, he would do it. I'll let you know what happens. If it works, sweet. If not, I'll just go with the original plan of switching out the rear brakes for Integra's ( I think the proper year is 92-93) and front Legend calipers. Again, I can not remember the proper years. I'm going to look for the link that Blanco sent me which is VERY informative in upgrading a Civic's brakes with other Acura parts. I'll post it when I do find it.

It's my pleasure to help others, with information originally posted by others, that actually helped me. :D

I also try to give credit where credit is due by thanking them when I do post what they have passed on to me.

well then you might as well put Brutal, Blanco, LS_vtec, and a few others in like every post. I have learned a ridiculus amount of stuff from all 3.

Keep looking around the site. You will find MANY more than just those three around with a LOT of great information. Calesta is another great source of information. All of the people just mentioned are very well versed in different areas. Add B and YBLEGAL to that list too.
