Rep Power: 19 | Here is some more stuff I painted. I got remanufactured calipers I painted them with the transtar and imron also along with the brackets. I took the knuckle blasted it and painted it with the gloss black. I also had new wheel bearings pressed in at the machine shop. Take a look at the before and after pictures of the LCAs. I painted one of them and replaced the other side with a brand new one from Honda. The new one from honda doesnt look as good as mine! Ohh I also blasted and painted the lower forks that hook onto the struts. Thats a shot of the passenger side strut and spring fully assembled. Also a shot of the new upper control arms with slideable ball joint to correct camber.

Rep Power: 19 | Well here is where the project sits now. I got the passenger side supension in. I also replaced the tie rod and lower ball joint boots and clips. Those are always a joy to put on, lol! The front brakes also have factory pads and power slot rotors with the stainless lines and remaned calipers. That shits going to look awesome in there! Its kind of fucked up that this 1988 crx looks better in the wheel wells then my 2000 si. |

Rep Power: 19 | Once I get the suspension back in and brakes things will really start to move fast. It has been time consuming to make everything look as good as it does. But I told my friend if your going to spend all this money its worth the extra time to make it look as good as it will perform. The engine is done and I have 99% of the parts needed to finish it. Another reason this build has taken so long is the cost of parts. My friend has been broke after buying all of this shit every paycheck for the last 2 and half years. But like I said I will finish this thread untill the car is done along with a dyno sheet after I tune it. If you like my thread/build please feel free to make comments or suggestions. You can even add to my reputation if you like since it does take me a while to upload all of these pictures with captions.

Rep Power: 19 | Here are some final shots of the passenger side suspension and brakes. The funny looking stuff on the new rotors is actually mold! There were in the brand new sealed bags I am not sure if it was the humidity in the shop or what that caused it, kind of weird. Last edited by boostin4fun; 09-03-2007 at 03:03 PM. |

Rep Power: 19 | Here is the driver's side all finished up. You can see a couple of rust holes that we are going to cut out and repair here shortly. We will weld in a couple patch pieces and re undercoat it. Check out the difference in the new vs. old swaybar link bushings! |

Rep Power: 19 | Well the car would be a complete rolling chasis again except for one problem... After looking at the driverside rear suspension closer I noticed a huge problem. I placed a wheel up on it and it is turned in towards the car when it should be straight! The trailing arm of this side of the suspension had to of suffered some damage in a accident. So the salvage yard that sold this to me is going to hear from me soon. Luckily the other side is fine and is straight as can be. So now I am going to have to find a drivers side trailing arm to fix this. It makes the saying one step forward two steps back seem very true! This is exactly why I take my time to grease ALL of my hardware when I put stuff together! I am not going to let this halt the forward momentum of the project though. I will be getting the tranny with the new clutch and flywheel bolted up and start tackling the wiring. I will keep updating as progress is made.

Rep Power: 19 | Does anyone know the prelude part# for the fitting that will screw into the back of the block for doing a breather setup? I have seen someone on here that had this setup. |

Rep Power: 19 | Well I have been working on this project again and decided that I would update with a few pictures of the progress. I wanted to have this done some time ago but with work and school I havent had the time needed to do something like this. |

Rep Power: 19 | This is a couple shots of the integra bracket that needed to be modified. I opened up the two lower holes for the bolts that go into the transmission. You need to do this when using the hydralic trans. This was pretty easy with the nice press and vise I have at work. I then blasted it and painted it with silver Imron. Came out pretty decent. |

Rep Power: 19 | That bracket was the only thing holding me up from getting the engine in. With that out of the way I got the exedy stage 1 clutch and flywheel bolted up. Then I got the transmission bolted on. I also got the new alternator and starter on while it was all out. The engine dropped in pretty easy, having quality mounts such as the hasports really make the job easier. I was nervous about bumping the new paint but we were able to get it in without fucking it all up. Here are some shots from different angles. |

Rep Power: 19 | Here are some more shots. I waited to put the intake manifold on till after the engine was in. I think it definetly made it easier to avoid messing up the paint. It was really easy to put in afterwards so it worked out fine. |

Rep Power: 19 | Well that is the project how it sits as of now. I still need to get a few parts. I need a intermediate shaft so I can get the axles in and a few bolts and so on. I will be tackling the wiring after that. I didnt want to do any of the wiring untill everything was in so I can make everything look as clean as possible. I will also be working on the crossmember real soon. I need to make clearance for the header if necessary and weld some brackets for the new civic sized koyo racing radiator.

Rep Power: 5 | Well, I love the build but why did you paint the parts and not powder coat it? I am tearing my suspession out in 2 weeks and having it powder coated blue before installing the Energy Suspension Bushing Kit and other parts. I am just lost as to why the V-TEC head? I will start to build my ls engine soon and am thinking of doing non-vtec for turbo. Keep up the great work and keeping us posted on the build. |

Rep Power: 19 | Powder coating is nice but I dont have a powdercoater. Dupont imron paint is damn near bullet proof after I bake it in the oven. Plus it has transtar epoxy primer/sealer underneath it. That finish will last forever, plus I get the paint for free from work. That paint is expensive but durable the primer is just over $200 a gallon and the Imron is over $150 a gallon also. This was going to be an all motor car so the choice to go with the vtec head is pretty obvious. |

Rep Power: 0 | ok, that is seriously awesome! I'm considering doing a similar set-up in my 93' EX, but not nearly as modified, just the LS/VTEC combo. So having done it, what would you personally recommend to a novice grease-monkey and honda freak? I want something potent and not as common and this seems to be it |
