Default d15b7 to d15b8 head swap ECU?

I have a 95 Civic CX (d15b7) with a 16 Valve Non-VTEC head, which replaced the stock 8 valve head. Whenever I accelerate a dark smoke comes from the exhaust. From what I have read it seems like the timing may be off? Or is the ECU completely different? Any help would be great.

you shouldn't have ECU problems. To the computer doesn't know you have two more valves. You may be burning too rich, but I would check your HG and your valve seals. That dark smoke is usually oil burning. Anyone correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that's your best bet.
