Does anyone out there know if it is possible to swap out a stock d16z6 sohc and replace it with the d16a1 dohc head?? I am wanting to make the conversion to dohc in my sohc del sol si and I had a few questions. Will the wires match up?? What are the reprocussions, added horse?? Loss of horse?? I have looked ate the way they line up together but I need to know from someone out there if this is something that will work

I already have the d16a1 head just need to get questions answered

there are 3 models of del sols in the US

93-97 S -- SOHC (D15B7) non-VTEC
93-97 Si -- SOHC (D16Z6) VTEC
94-97 VTEC -- DOHC (B16A3) VTEC

VTEC engagement on a D16Z6 is at 4800 RPM
SOHCs do not have a very noticeable VTEC engagement... there is not much audible change and there is not really an agressive pull like on the DOHC B series VTEC engines

do you have an intake of some kind?
like CAI or SR, this will usually make the vtec engagement more audible...

poor n00b, i feel sorry for you...
just keep asking q's and you'll learn
and read as much as you can...
