how does a normal piston look???

just wondering how does a normal piston loook like?? cause like two weeks ago.. my friend just got his car running.. of rebuild and adding internal.. new pistons builded bottom end..head worrk.. etc.. and two days ago we were changing his spark plug and we peek in just to look at the pistons... it was black... and it looks wet..?? it looked like it had oil or i dont really know what it was.??? but is that normal.. ???? how is the piston suppose to look...like??? and his car is running good no check engine light... oh and its a ls vtec too... we just freaking out... thanks!!!

you might get a little oil past the rings as they seal but it should stop after it is broken in. Did you break in the motor with non-synthetic oil?

if you're worried that the rings didn't seal properly do a leak down test and see what's up

naw he use this cheap as oil from exxon... for the break in period ..... so yeah he was freaking out... he thinks his motor gonna give up... he was already giving up and shit...thanks..
