Well then that's not an engine swap, that's a head swap. You could just replace the one you have, B18B heads are dirt cheap. If you want more power though you could switch to a VTEC head but that's more involved.

BTW, How do you know you just need a new head? Do you know what is actually wrong? you can probably just fix it unless it is really messed up.

well whats been happening is im only getting 16 mpg!! and my mechanic said I have no gas leaks and he did a full tune up...so he is disinterested in foreign cars so he wasnt much help but..I was told by someone it might just be the head that needs replacing...but im not sure what else could be eating up my gas..??

your only option for better power with an easy swap is b18c1, theyre not cheap, though. however, your next statement:

You need to go to a different mechanic. Seriously, if they can't figure out why a car is getting half the mpgs it should be then they shouldn't have a garage. Either find a "foreign" shop or //cringe// take it to Honda/Acura. It will cost a little more there but I'll near promise it leaves getting good mpg or at least, knowing the problem.

What's the mileage on the car? How long have you owned it? Any strange noises or smells? Any thing just seem out of the ordinary?

The car has 125,000 miles...had it 3 months.....I was getting about 20 mpg when I first got the car and it seems like everytime I fill up the tank I get less and less mpg.....the a/c doesnt get that cold so I have it pumping non-stop to try and get cooled off but I dont think that would have anything to do with it...other than that I went and changed the oil..had a full tune up...changed out air filter and oil filter...dont know...its crazy!...and like you said "cringe" Taking it to acura will cost me more than the cars worth...lol
