um, your compression would not be affected, but you might wanna get new valvesprings and retainers because the ctr's make power above that of the b16 cams. you would not want to put in itr pistons, as they would either cause the same c/r if not reduce your c/r because they are meant for the itr stroke which is longer than that of the b16...your best bet would be getting ctr pistons.

usdm b16 c/r = 10.205320397414986
usdm b16 with itr pistons = 10.194654591216547 usdm b16 with ctr pistons = 10.801068956759683 this can all be found on this site which i found in the HS FAQ forum when building my motor http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto/compcal...lc/compcalc.php *edit . . . i'm running 11.1 to 1 compression and use 93 or 94 octane at all times |

there is no way CTR pistons in a B16a block gives it only 10.8:1 CR, that is the CR of CTR pistons in the B16B!! and the B16B have the same deck height as the gsr/itr blocks, that compression calculator thinks the B16a/b blocks are the same... no way jose. CTR pistons in a B16a wil give you around 11.6:1 CR |
