So I am looking into building up my d series for more boost than a stock map sensor will let me run...
so... a gm 3 bar map will allow me 2 bar over atmospheric pressure right? so if i were to use hotrex's block filing method, and got some H beams with some 8:1 or 8.5:1 pistons what do you think i could safely push the motor to? PSI and HP wise and if i went with rods, pistons, and block filing whats the next weakest link? edit: what size turbo would be good? and what size injectors? __________________

the tranny and axles probably...
and don't go down to 8:1... these are hondas, not nissans. stay above 9, or its going to be a dog off-boost. safely, i'd guess 350? i dunno... everything else will start breaking first... lol |

But this is assuming you are going to use ARP rod bolts. That is a MUST. And 'sol is right, don't go down to 8:1.. There is no need for that. __________________

honestly, the trannt is pretty stout. if you run street tires, the first to go will be axles, if you run slicks, itll be the tranny.
you will make around 300-320 ish on about 20 psi. i made 293 on 18 |

i;m not sure i understand how the retainers will be affected by boost? and what size injectors would you guys recommend? __________________

they wont be... they have nothing to do with that.
that will only allow you to rev further up the power band.. you can mae oodles of power on stock head components. id roll some 550s in nyour d series. you will not use more fuel than they can provide. plus they still idle descent. |
