hey i just install a new t3/t4 turbo and wen i start the car, i chekked if the wheel is spinning on the intake side ( dont really kno wat it called) and it's not moving at all like it's not working but wen i rev the motor it spins. the wheel does spin wen i spin it wit my finger( wit the car off) so is it a bad turbo or some turbos are like that, please let me kno....it is a new turbo ( cheap ones for now )

does it make boost? take it for a spin around the block.

You did plumb the oil lines right?

yea it does boost ( pretty good too)........it does spin wen i rev the engine..........and wat u ( klyph ) mean plumb the oil line.......everything is hooked up.
the feed line and the return line.............so wat u guys think... it still boost up and it does spin wen i rev it but just dont spin wen at idle............it spin freely wen car is off and i spin it with my finger....let me kno guys..............would this have anything to do wit the blue smoke i got?. note, car already blow blue smoke before i installed this turbo

its a ebay turbo ( for now until tax time baby!)............lol

its probaly just a bit large on the hot side and wont spin at idle

it likely needs engine load to do anything. not uncommon.

Thats odd. Never really heard of that happening,

I know mine spins at idle and its an egay t3/t4 as well.

If its a big turbo it wont spin at idle, Most turbos need a load so they can spool.

If it builds boost quick then its ok, no big deal nothing to worry about.

Plus if your running a log manifold your probably losing a lot of flow there.

I still dont get it. Im running a log and it still spools at idle for me.

Im not tryin to thread jack, but im super curious as to why he's having this issue.

trust me im confuse too..... i had another ebay turbo before this and that 1 spins at idle. just dont kno why this 1 dont ....but the good thing is that it still spools and working other than at idle. but still i gotta rebuild the motor cuz i think my rings r f**ked blowing blue smoke like crazy mostly wen im accelerating ..
