Default What is this pipe??

What is this pipe?

Regarding XS-Power turbo kit

I’ve already heard all the “ditch it and buy something else” type comments. Problem is, it’s not mine and the money’s already spent, so for now we have to make this work…at least for now.

So here’s my question:

WTH is the tube with the bung welded to it??
I think it’s too small to be the downpipe. The exhaust side of the turbo is about 2.75” dia, this tube is about 2.25” dia (I think). It also looks to be too big to be the dump tube for the wastegate. But I could be wrong.

There is no flange on it.

But what is a Hotpipe? Is it another name for dump tube?
