Default 2000 EX Engine in LX

I did a standard motor replacement last summer with no problem, so my question is can I take a 2000 Civic EX motor, ECU, and harness, and it bolt up to the LX transmission in the LX body? I am assuming the only difference is the VTEC solenoid wire on the harness and the ECU itself. Is there anything else I could run into?

It should be quite an easy swap. You know what you need for it already. GO FOR IT! I'm on for the progress and pics.

Yeah, this won't be going down for about another week, I am in college and do this on the side over breaks. It's not too bad to work for 8-10 hour a day for a week and make $1500 or so, just depending on how close I book stuff.
I'll take pics of all my Honda work and maybe some of the other stuff if it's anything interesting. I am putting a CF hood and trunk on my bro-in-law's S2000 too, that would make good car porn
But this civic swap is just a car my buddy and I are co-investing in and then selling right after the swap.

Yeah, he is paying me, and I just talked to him yesterday and there will be a CAI waiting on me too, which surprised me because he always bragged about the stock intake. It already has a "cone filter" on it stock, and he said it's so well tuned that people only get a couple of HP from doing a CAI on an f22c, so he is always looking at cams and superchargers. Anyway, now he tells me he bought one from AEM that is supposed to give it an extra 20 HP which I find surprising, but not impossible. Either way, yeah, he's paying me to do that with the hood, trunk, front spoiler lip, and fluid change. I am taking a buddy to help lift the hood off, I know the factory ones is light, I just don't want to take any chances with the fenders or windshield lol.

Oh yeah, and I got an engine for it, the EX motor on craigslist was gone, so I sent my dad to the local salvage yard and they actually had one cheaper than I could find anywhere, only $550 plus tax for a D16y7 with 119K on it. I will do the timing belt and water pump of its not been done, but I'll check just in case they did it on time, that would be nice, and save me $60+. I am somewhat happy I don't have to mess with the ECU and harness, I want to see how quickly I can do the swap this time. A guy over at Honda-tech swapped an RSX motor in 5 hours with nothing but two jacks and air tools. I do find it crappy that the yard said they take the throttle body, my question is why not the whole manifold? Maybe the sensors? I don't know. Well, it doesn't really matter, I am just going to sell the head off the old block and turn in the aluminum block for scrap.

Must be nice getting paid for un-bolting shit and bolting other shit in it's place. Your brother-in-law sounds kinda helpless, lol...

Well, he's in Iraq and will only have so much time when he gets back on leave, so he wants to spend more time driving and less time wrenching. And with an S2K, I do not blame him one bit. I would rather be at redline than under the hood, which is still a close second. He's done his own brakes and intake on his old H23 lude, so I know he can rice, but anything complicated he calls me for.
And yeah, I was going VTEC, but the engine on Craigslist was already sold so I just located a stock LX one. I'm back home as of 5 minutes ago so I'll check out this Civic and engine in the morning and make sure everything's legit. My dad picked it up for me this morning.
Oh, question: Do junkyard motors have a tendency to blow out rear mains on startup from sitting in the yard so long? I got a D16 last summer that showed no signs whatsoever of having a rear main leak, then after I put it in and started it up, it had a pretty consistent drip. I am tempted to just do the rear main preemptively even if the motor looks fine.
