so i figured out what was wrong wit the car it was the cam timing that was retarded way too far back i also noticed that it has the td-85u dizzy on it and it should be running the td-23u are these two distributors different in any way because my mechanical timing is rite on and the dizzy is advanced as far as the bolts will let it and its still showing that the timing is at about 11 or 12 degrees btdc when it should be at like 16 what i want to know is would the td 23u dizzy fix the problem

I assume you are jumping the service connector when checking/adjusting the timing?
