Rep Power: 14 | Hey Guys and Gals, My roommate just bit the $500 bullet to get his 1992 Accord converted to R134a. after performing the work, the dealer told him he needs a new compressor, accumulator, compressor clutch, and inlet and outlet hoses. It's going to be another $1400, which he can't really afford. Does anyone have, or know anyone who can get, those parts for cheap? |

| Senior Member | Good god, $1400 is more than the car is worth. Junkyard the parts, you'll find most of them if not all of them. Why would he need all this new stuff? (The compressor clutch is inside the compressor ... sorta ...) The hoses shouldn't need to be replaced unless they're broken. The compressor is on ebay for less than $200 im sure if you're against junkyarding it. I'm willing to bet his accumulator is fine? |
