I bought a dc sports header off ebay that was stated worked on 94-01 tegs but when i look at it there is no o2 sensor port on it and my 00gs-r is obd2. I measured the bottom runners on my car and it doesnt even look like this header will reach the catalic convertor. What can i do? Wont i throw a code if i dont hook up primmary o2 sensor even if i could get it to connect to the cat? I already emailed seller but i might have to resell. What kinda feedback should i give? Help

if it is a 4-2-1 2 peice header he could have sold you the top half only. I'm kind of confused about what happened but that is what it sounds like

no its a 1 piece header thats about 7 inches to short to reaching my cat, what it is that header he sold me was a carb exempt header. If you look at the ones that come with a o2 plug there longer due to having to put a o2 port on it. The guy even said he forgot that he had to modify his high flow cat to fit that header. He's sending me a pic and said i can have the cat if I want. I still will be one o2 plug short though.

i'd return it and get the right part. he can keep his cat.

otherwise, you're going to end up drilling and tapping, and possibly leaking.

that, and the dc421 header isn't all that good anyway :P make him take it back for sending you the wrong thing.

You sure he didn't just cap and wrap over the "bung"? Check on the upper portion of the header, the section in front of the motor.

Other than that, A muffler shop will be able to extend the pipe from the header to the cat.. that wouldn't cost much.

Having an O2 censor bung installed doesn't cost much either. (its generally just a stainless nut that they weld into place) So, if you want to send it back, pay the shipping, etc, and pay more for another header that will fit, thats fine, but the one that you have can be modified to fit fairly cheap and easily.

Whatever floats your boat.


Personally, if you can do it without getting screwed on feedback, I'd send it back. I hate the ebay feedback system. Its like blackmail. If you leave someone a negative, you can bet your ass you are getting a neg. too. Even though all you did was pay for the damn thing.

as far as i know, the 00-01 GSR didnt have the short header like the 94-99. iu could have the year cutoff wrong, but im pretty sure the newer gsr's ddint have the short header like the earlier ones. he sent you the wrong header.

but what do i know, i bought SMSP, and it doesnt bolt up to anything, lol

its a $15-$30 fix to get the exhaust extended to get the cat to bolt up..
