Yeah, I know this probably belongs in the ricey body/exterior foryum we have, but I know half of the people here (including me) almost never look at it.

Anyway, I purchased myself a carbon fiber hood on Friday, and got it installed Friday night. There's no place to put the hood stand, so I've got to make a hole for that. The holes for the windshield nozzles are too small, so I've got to drill those out. Otherwise, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. It fits nice, and looks awesome.

But, the hood likes to wobble around above 55 mph, and I don't know if I trust the latch that came with the hood, so I think I really need some hood pins. Besides, the guys at the shop I bought the hood from recommended pins too. So, my question is....what kind of hood pins should I get, and where should I get them from? Well, I guess the FIRST question is, does it MATTER who I get them from? Are there "quality" hood pins? Thanks for any help.

your basic choices are a regular pin setup like this:

or a locking setup like this:

they both are in the $30 area

Like esol said, hood pins are hood pins and the types that are pictured above are pretty much it. They're pretty much all the same but the more reputable the company (like Sparco), the better the pin, i.e. no rusting, etc....Good Luck

I'd get hood locks, just in case anyone does try and steal your car and strip it, it'll make it a shit load harder for them to get into your engine bay and take your hood, untill they figure out to just cut the bitch open.

heh, that's why you get a damper switch installed so your alarm goes off unless its depressed. It makes it very tough.

the ones with the locks are easy as hell to open up. i know 2 people who had them and people still got under their hoods.
one of them had his intake taken cuz that's all he had and the other just had a bunch of trash stuffed under his hood.

I'm still keeping my stock hood latch, so people won't just be able to pop my hood.
