Default how much oil is normal in the intake pipe?

if you have the hose connected from your valve cover to you intake pipe like you are supposed to, how much oil should you see? i know some has to get sucked in.

i have a very small amount of oil that has ran down my short ram to the filter over the course of a few months. i saw it the other day when i took the filter off.

None. If you have oil collecting in your intake, it's because your rings are worn out, and the blow-by is creating oil vapor in your crankcase. This oil vapor condensates in the intake tube, which is the oil you see. Your engine is nearing the end of it's life. You should be able to get plenty more miles out of it, but you'll have to change your oil more frequently, as the blow-by will shorten the life of your oil.

Start saving for a new engine now, you'll thank yourself later.

one easy way to see if your rings are dying is turn the car on and take the oil cap ff, if you see smoke or air moving out, chances are your getting a good ammount of blow by.
