I cant keep my 1987 carbed crx running. I get it started & it revs up & down real high & dies unless I keep punching the gas can anyone help me do I need to install a manual choke?

Sounds like it's either a vaccum problem or it's not getting proper fueling.

vacuum leak, map sensor issue?

are you in a cold temp?

does the carb'ed version have a coolant temp sensor?

is your CEL on?

what if you rev it till it warms up?
then will it run ok?

that was happening with my celica, replaced the map sensor, fixed it right up

Yes the car is cold when 1st starting it, it will stay running once warm but stays reving at 3000 rpm's . Any suggestions?
