Just curious...The wire that goes to the knock sensor looks like it has some kind of shielding on it. I used wire that did not...Will this affect anything? Also what specifically does the knock sensor do...I read it retards the throttle in certain instances.

the knock sensor listens for spark knock and retards the timing if nessary

if your wire isent touching anything hot ie exaust block you should be ok
