Lately my gsr vtec and buttterfly valves been acting weird. On my first gear the vtec will come on at 4900 which usually comes in at 4400. Yesterday my butterfly valves did not open after 5700 so my engin lags all the way. Sometimes everythings works fine. Right now im thinking its my ecu due to electrostatic discharge because i hadle the ecu a couple of time without grounding my self. Last year i use a freind chipped b16 ecu at the track and my second run my vtec did not come on at all and there was my slowest run ever, 16.0. But on that run at the end of 3rd gear at 7500 rpm, my vtec finally kicked in. weird. I have a b20vtec. any input will help.

Maybe you are having oil pressure issues. Not enough oil pressure, no vtec.
