the weld on my intermediate pipe rusted through and I would like to replace it. I have searched a little on the net and kept finding one replacement. It seems that Bosal is the only company that is making an OEM replacement and it retails for 75.xx shipped. I need some opinions.

A) should I just get the Bosal replacement and Install it myself?

B) get a honda replacement and install it myself?

C) have a muffler shop bend something up and if so what size?

D) get a name brand "cat-back" system.

I am driving a 96 civic dx with a short ram intake and thats about it. Originally when I bought the car I was going to mod it, but I grew up and my priorities changed. Just looking for the best bang for the buck.

If you don't want 'performance', I'd just go to a muffler shop. You could probably get one made for like $30 or so. If you want performance, I'd just go ahead and get a cat-back.
 
I suppose.....I am a shop teacher and so far no one in my area carries exhaust parts. do you think if I called a muffler shop the would make one with out the car so I could pick it up?
 
I doubt it. I wouldn't want to do that, anyways. Just drive to a muffler shop, it shouldn't take them more than 20 minutes.

You can get a Tsudo catback on ebay for around $250 or so, and they're actually pretty badass...I had one on my 92 hatch, and loved the hell out of it...I woulda bought one for the CRX, but I don't really like the can-style exhaust on EF's...

I'd go with a full catback above anything else...but if all you're doing is replacing the midpipe, I'd just go to a muffler shop :thumbsup:

was missing a couple nuts and a gasket but they set it and more...

I keep meaning to ask you...Do you have the sound baffle for that can on the hatch? I'm old, going deaf and can't hear on the cell phone above at freeway speed. If not, any suggestions on where I could buy one that would fit?
 
I sure did think i'd left it in the trunk...hrm...

Now that you mention it, I don't know if I would have known what it was when I first emptied out the trunk. There was a box that had suspension parts, I assume those are left-overs that don't apply to this application?

Also, I wondered if the plywood was just for mounting audio stuff or were you trying to box up the rear frame a little?
 
It might've been with that stuff...I know there were some Energy bushings in there, like for the steering rack that I'd never installed....and the piece of wood was only there for holding up the carpet and mounting audio stuff.
