You will need the three mounting screws for the air box. if you want to bring it back to completly stock there is another lower section that goes behind the corner of the bumper.

You're wasting time and money putting the lower resonator section back on. It does nothing for or against the engine. It does nothing to make the intake quieter, it doesn't help pull in any cold air (it does the opposite actually), and serves no purpose other than filler for the fenderwell.

Take this as gospel coming from a guy who just removed his and noticed absolutely no change whatsoever. I removed it to install my Korbach frame locks, because you can't install them on an EG with this black box in the way, and left it off just to see if there was a difference. There is none. Skip it dude.

So you swapped the engine and then proceeded later on to take out the resonator?

hmm... why didn't you rip it out before stuffing it into the fenderwell?

Anyway, the notice of sound is from putting a CAI in, not necessarily from taking the resonator off.

However, when I removed the resonator from my Escort I did notice a difference in sound, and I could hear my secondaries opening. Then I put a SRI intake on it and it was even louder.

So yes, you WILL hear a difference. But that's not the point, the point is he wants to return it to stock. The resonator is stock.

JDM... just a question, why are you doing that anyway? (not that it matters either way)

I never took it out because I haven't put an aftermarket or custom CAI on yet. I've been busy trying to get the ride set to where I want it with all new suspension and tie bars, and the frame locks. I do have a magnaflow catback with a magnaflow hiflow cat converter, but that's the extent of my performance mods at this point. It's fast enough atm for me to focus on the more immediate problem of my ride quality sucking ass. I've got more rattles than I can stand right now, and I'm trying to iron them all out before I go insane. Later on I'll put a better intake on it, but for now it's fine the way it is.
