my trunk lock on my 90 Integra GS wont lock. i unscrewed that U shaped piece on the hatch itself and put it in the lock mechanism and it will lock but when i have it mounted to the hatch itself, it wont lock into place. its like the hatch or something is is hitting SOMEWHERE (ive looked all over the hatch area and found nothing blocking it from closing) but i cant find what or where. do i maybe need to shim the U piece that goes into the lock on the hatch itself, or is something wrong somewhere? ive tried everything i could think of without buying a new lock assembly. thanks for any and all help all!!

if you end up needing the lock thing, I can uhmm sell you the one of my parts car for like 10 dollars plus the key that goes to it. thats if you need it.
