I'm putting a fresh clutch disc, etc. in my daughters stock '89 CRX/DX. I'm ready to drop the tranny but the speedo cable is stuck in the tranny. Yes... I've removed the keeper & have sprayed "holy water" on it several times. Does it just pry out via the flange that the keeper secures??? Unfortunately I don't have a Helms for this vehicle... all Chilton's says is remove the cable from the transmission!!!

Well... I figured it out myself. The keeper I refered to has nothing to do with removing the cable... it just secures the bushing in the case. Once I was able to ease up the rubber boot (remember... this car is 15yrs old) without tearing it up, it exposed a spring clip. Once the clip was removed the cable came right out.
