Default vtec question

I'm wondering, you know how people use those rpm activated switchs to activate vtec if they don't have a vtec ecu, if someone was to do that but put the rpm at (or "pills" depending on what one they had) at like 2500 or around there, would that pretty much make it like the vtec-e, and give you better gas millage? odd question I know but still I'm curious

no, and the ppl that use the button for vtec is losing power to. just because you trick the vtec into coming dont mean its performing right. in real vtec the ecu changes the fuel ect ect

Engaging VTEC that early won't help you at all as far as gas mileage is concerned. VTEC and VTEC-E are designed completely different from one another. Lowering your VTEC engagement will not allow you to open only one valve at low RPMs like in VTEC-E.
