currently using 5w30 royal purple.
been looking at amsoil 0w-30. it would seem that the 0w-30 would have a better cold start and lubrication and would still maintain the same protection when warm.

im gonna switch to amsoil. should i stay at 5w30 weight? or go to a thicker weight? if i were to race maybe 1 time per day.

Mobil 1 myself. I used to us Castrol until after pulling apart a few motors where the owners used Castrol.

Castrol after time has a tendecy to gum up and fill up the oil passages in crankshafts, thus causing oil cavatation and spun bearings. After witnessing this I stopped using Castrol all together.

I always went with the Mobil 1.

But now it's Castrol for the Shitvic and next oil change the Jeep's gettin Mobil 1.

Did you really feel the need to make the topic of your thread in all caps?

Oh and at least spell "something" correctly it isn't that hard of a word to spell.

I like Redline Motor Oil. Ive used Mobil, Castrol, Royal Purple etc... The Redline seemed to hold up the longest. Costs the same as Royal Purple.

Ive lost 2 motors on Mobil1. Not saying it was the oil, just too coincidental for me :)

Hmm, I can't remember what I was thinking when I said use a thinner weight oil, I always used thicker also, but I know I must have had a reason for suggesting a thinner weight.
