i need to put a new ignition switch in my crx but how do i get the old one out. do i have to drill the pins out thats holding it to the steering column

By what it says in the manual that I have from honda on my computer you have to drill the pins out because when you install it they are shear head screws

No I didn't have to drill anything. I did mine about a year ago in my 89 Rex Si. Can you take a pic and put it up of which part you are having trouble with. I might be able to tell you how I did it.

it depends on which part of the switch he is trying to replace if it is part of the wiring than that peice unscrews, if it is the lock cylinder than you have to drill out the shear head screws to replace that

i fixed it, theres no need to take it off the colum you can replace it all without doing that thanks guys

My 1986 Honda CRX Si won't start unless I turn the switch real hard and fast. What do I need to do to fix or replace it? New switch? or other part needed. I am worried it won't start one day when I need it the most.
