i have a stock b20 and its turbo pushing 10 psi and wanted to know how much more power would i gain by putting on a v tec head

There's no set amount of "power" you will gain by putting on a DOHC VTEC head. Additionaly, there are too many variables to even give you a ballpark figure.

Is it a B18 or B16 head? Is it stock? What head gasket will you be running? Etc.

Depending on your tune, you should see decent gains, though.

what size turbo, 10 psi is meaningless with out knowing what turbo, basically post up the whole story if you want help.

b16 head with a stage 2 cam by skunk 2 port and polish and probely a thicker head gasket

Keep in mind that those cams aren't necessarily turbo friendly. You might want to consider swapping them out for some turbo-specific ones...

^Word, make sure you get a turbo safe Cam. Also keep in mind that you will most likely need to change the valve springs and retainers as the stock springs will crack/break and result in catastrophic failure.

For Reference, you can probably find a B16 VTEC head for around $300. Then you're gonna need the Oil return kit.

As for power increases. With a good tune, almost anything is possible.

10 Psi sounds a little bit on the high side assuming its a stock block. If you have an MBC or some sort of engine management ya might wanna dial that down to 8 or so.

Also, what size Turbo?

i may not know to much about the the turbo b20 but i do no that if you put a vtec head(b16) on you will most likely only get a year out of it dependiong on how hard you beat on it.

my ls vtec blew the head in about a month and a half, too much compression pulled the studs out of the block on the number 4 cylinder.

b20 is also meant to run at low rpms, the vrtec will put extra strain on te motor that you dont really need.
just build the internals and put a bigger turbo or put some spray to it

If you don't know what you're talking about, then don't bother posting please... :slap:

i said i didnt know too much about the turbo side of the b20
i was mainly talking about the vtec side because that it what i have right now

Yeah but you're spreading misinformation here. Just because your own motor is falling apart doesn't mean that all LS/VTEC or B20/VTEC engines will only last a year. The longevity of an engine like that depends on how well it was put together, how well it's tuned, and whether it's beat on or not.

Plenty of people have built LS/VTECs that lasted for many years and 50,000+ miles. Like I said, it just depends on the quality of the parts and the build...
