B16a in a 91

Ok blew up my motor so im switching to a B16a now, few questions since i did a search here, first one is there anything wrong with a B16a, its a JDM motor so how would i get parts for it or if needed could i use later model B16 parts. Also what ECU should i get, i cant seem to find one so is there another ECU i could have programmed for it?
 
There are plenty of ECUs that can be chipped and programmed to run a B16, the P28 being the most typical example. You'll probably want to get a conversion harness so you can run an OBD1 ECU.

Also, there are OBD0 ECUs that will work. Check the ECU list in the reference section for the codes...
 
Correct. P28 = OBD1 single-cam VTEC, from the D16Z6 engine to be specific...
 
works for me, junkyard in my neighborhood has like a 100 civics i can swipe one from, thanks dude, always a help
 
im going with the P28 since im also trying to pull this on a budget and i want to keep it under 1700 since thats all i have, im getting the motor for a thousand and i can get a P28 ecu and have it chipped with Hondata s100 for alot cheaper then coming up with a B16a specific ecu seeing as im going with a jdm motor theyre not readily availible, my shop quoted me at 500 just for that specific ecu, i already have a jumper harness from my previous setup and im getting the ecu from a buddy if i spend that extra money since his has s300
 
Bought a 91 civic with warped head-change motor?

The $450 price for the 1991 civic seemed good as it has adjustable ride height shocks, exhaust, short shift, ton of custom stuff, but the moron kept drving it-fan failed.

i got my swap from elitejdm.com(formerly jdmexchange.com) in philadelphia for 1800 shipped. they included EVERYTHING. check them out. if youre east coast, im pretty sure its a flat rate for shipping, so youd probably get the same deal
