Heh. I just got my GH3 for Wii with dolby surround sound back from activision. I haven't even had a chance to pop it in the wii yet. I'll be interested in GH4.

Rock Band on Xbox has a TON of downloadable songs. Makes it all new again. I have over 100 songs on Rock band :)

Fookin' sweet! Looks Guitar Hero's going to be back on top again if they really are going to add additional instruments and let people write their own songs.

Isn't that picture from GH3 though?

Here ya go...

Thanks to next month's Game Informer and its early unveiling on PrimoTech, we now have some early details for this year's Guitar Hero IV.

The next installment in this hugely popular series will apparently "follow closely in the footsteps of Rock Band," in that players will have the option of more instruments besides a guitar. Yep, we figured this would happen; the new Guitar Hero will boast a bass, microphone and drumset (with two cymbals), and now we're wondering if GHIV and Rock Band instruments will be interchangeable... Furthermore, due to the split between Activision and Gibson, it now falls to the developer to create their very own guitar for this new installment. But believe it or not, the big news doesn't end there.

First and foremost, users will have the ability to create their own songs and share them with other players online, thanks to the brand new Guitar Hero Tunes service. Now, you won't be able to record vocals for your masterpieces, but that's okay. Heck, the customization is so far advanced that you'll even be able to create your own musicians, instruments and album art! We're still awaiting the official track list from Activision, but some included bands will be Van Halen, Linkin Park, and the Eagles, and all songs will be master tracks. Lastly, and we have to mention this- there is one currently unrevealed feature that will "directly impact the way you play Guitar Hero in the future."

Guitar Hero IV is scheduled to arrive some time later this year - probably for the holidays - for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Oh, and stay tuned for our interview with Neversoft regarding next month's Guitar Hero: Aerosmith.

are they just trying to suck? a whole game of aerosmith? what about the great guitarist? where's Jimi? i would like to see one of 60's/70's rock. not this butt-rock big hair bullshit. blah

:werd:GH/Activision needs to get out of Steven Tylers ass. The stage moves of the singer from GH3 was modeled after his stage moves.

Wrong forum?

Screw GHIV I got GTA IV yesterday :) for the ps3.

Yeah, I'm probably going to skip that one. The actual Guitar Hero 4 sounds pretty sweet though...

yeah I heard about that, GH is trying to buy into Rockbands' area with the extra instruments. Tell ya what though, I'm not buying it. I don't need or want two fake sets of drums.

The company that made Rock Band are the ones who did the first two Guitar Hero games anyway. Then there were some buyouts and they lost the franchise, so they came up with Rock Band to one up Guitar Hero...

im sure they will all be compatible...

Not necessarily, the guitar that comes with RB doesn't work on GH. if they do compatibility like that, then sure it'll be great and I may consider it, but I've lost a lot of interest in GH and RB lately.
