i know this is tranny question but its on a turboed integra. i just wanna know how much hp a b18 ls manual transmission can handel. i have a boost controler and 440 injectors, on a b18c vtec head (built motor) 9.5.1 compression thermal pistions (black color) and a stage 3 clutch. some feedback would be great. thanks guys

George Frideric Handel was a German born Baroque composer who is famous for his operas, oratorios and concerti grossi. Born as Georg Friedrich Händel in Halle, he spent most of his adult life in England, becoming a subject of the British crown in January 1727. His most famous works are Messiah, an oratorio set to texts from the King James Bible; Water Music; and Music for the Royal Fireworks.

hope that answers your question..

you do realize hp doesn't really matter regarding the tranny right? once it's in gear, the tranny can hold more power than your engine will put ot. theres about 100 other parts to worry about when dealing with more than factory power.

How much power do you plan on making?

Nice dacheat, its not the horsepower thats the worry i think, its the torque that can hurt it. The clutch is what is supposed to handle it, also the drivelines. Im not really sure how to strengthen the tranny

The tranny itself is fine its the clutch and the axles that cant hold high HP numbers. Your clutch sholud say how much holding force it has, or you can find out really easy be researching it. And the stock axles are only good to like 250 or so I think.

I was only making 253hp and I was snapping axles left and right if I launched to hard.

The tranny itself doesn't really need to be strengthened. The clutch is what takes the brunt of the abuse, so that's what you would want to upgrade for high horsepower and torque applications. You'd also want upgraded axles...

oh it totally was. ^_^

don't be sad that your spelling error made my day, you still got your question answered by our gurus.

i was talkin to a friend a mine and he said that the syncros wont be able to handel more than 250. is there any way to beef it up, like getting the tranny rebuilt? and it sounds like i might need to also get stronger axles. my overall goal is around 300hp+

You can have stronger synchros put into it, but for 300 horsepower I don't think it will be necessary. The important part is that you get a nice beefy clutch and some stronger axles...

Everyone has a 'friend' who has so much info... if he knew exactly what he was talking about then why didn't he tell you what would be needed? I'm sorry but it bugs the shit outta me when people come on here asking us questions, people reply with answers/suggestions and then the topic starter replies with 'well my friend said this, that, and some other bullshit'...

There are tons of people making 500+ horsepower with stock synchros in thier trannies and are doing great. Your 'friend' should of advised you that the weak links are the axles so get some stronger/better axles. Also get a clutch that is rated to hold the amount of HP you're gonna make.

Stronger synchros are a good idea, but for 300 horsepower I wouldn't even consider it. Save that money and get a good tune...

That was what i was saying in post.

axels will break first
followed by the differential
followed by the clutch/pressureplates/etc etc slipping
long before you snap the tranny in half

Egos get broken or smashed quicker though.
