hi there i am just wondering if someone could help me out. the swap consists of

b18a1 with tranny
skunk 2 intake
bolx oversized 68mm throttle body
custom headders

what i need to know is if someone has the diagram of hoses for the intake, sensor locations.

if anyone can help i would be really greatful

First, is it an obd0 b18a1 or an obd1 b18a1? Generally, all you need is to connect vacuum to your map sensor and fuel rail, then connect the PCV valve and the charcoal filter. Depending on your intake manifold, you may have an idle adjuster that runs on vacuum as well.

thanx for your help guys

well all your pointers were helpfull in understanding the engine thankyou again..

my next question is how fast do you guys think this car might go?? i have a 07 mustang and a 05 rsx who want to race me this summer as long as i get it finished by then.. who do you think might win??

how many turns, and what have you done to your suspension?

Basically, you're going to lose if it's a straight line. To both. If the mustang is anything better than the 4cyl, it's putting out significantly more power than you are and the rwd is more advantageous in a straight line. In turns, your light weight wins out every time.

As far as how fast... about the same. Expect around a 15-second quarter mile if you're a decent dragger. An ls swap isn't a whole new world of performance, but it's a nice improvement. If you swap a nice set of cams in there and a lightweight flywheel, and build up the valvetrain a bit, you'll see much more spirited response. Your hp numbers aren't going to be insane, and the LS transmission isn't exactly ideal for racing.

The RSX is iffy though. It's quite a bit heavier, but has a k20 motor (around 200hp to your 130 or so). Depending on the trim (a type s will probably eat you for lunch just because of gear ratios), it could be a fair fight for the finish, but if all things are equal (most importantly driver skill) my money goes on the RSX.

Anyway, you'll enjoy the change. As long as you do things right, you shouldn't run into any huge problems. Feel free to check out my site, where I have a full writeup on swapping a b18a1 into a CRX.

you might be right on the 07 mustang spanking him but the rsx if its completley stock you will pull him by about a car length or two if you can drive when i had my hatch i pulled one after another and my 90 rs teg (intake, exhauste, and b16 tranny) pull a type s by three

N as for this swap u have to get another traction bar, i prefer avid traction bar. N the reason for changing that is because you are running a after market header n the header will not clear the stock traction bar. Also with the avid traction bar u can get tranny slidder mounts so u can run the half size rad. I can take a pic of my hoses from my b18a1 in my 91 si hatch if you would like just email me if u want me to.. awcclm04@aol.com

R u serious??? hummm since he wrote b18a1 that would tell you right there its a obd1 hahaha the b18a would b obdo.

PS no offense drummingpariah but after u asked what obd it was after he already wrote b18a1 u lost my respect to listen to a word u say because u obviously dont know anything if u dont know the first steps in knowing what type of motors r what.

You sir, are a fucking idiot. I don't want to see you telling other people that they're wrong when the info you're giving out is wrong as well...

If you have an engine that's labeled simply "B18A", that just means that it's from a Japanese car, not that it's OBD0. Japanese motors only have four digits in their engine codes; US-spec motors have the extra fifth digit.

All US-spec 90-93 Integras have B18A1 engines. The 90-91 versions are OBD0, and the 92-93 versions are OBD1 (just like every other Honda vehicle produced between 1992 and 1995), so drummingpariah's question was perfectly legitimate.

Next time, double check your own facts before you open your mouth to criticize someone else please, and also, if that other forum is so vastly superior to ours, feel free to spend your time there rather then here...

as far as running the rsx and mustang. i have a b18b1 in my crx. and i held my own against a rsx on kpro. i rev matched 3rd and he waited till the 3rd honk to down shift and i have a b16 trans, so i put 3 lengths on him right away for him to down shift. then he slowly pulled up on me and he would of walked away if we had more room. and depending on if the mustang is a v6 or v8... you wont stand a chance against the v8, but depending on your driving, you could piss of a guy in his mid-life crisis who bought a v6 to show off for his girl friend

Thanks for the defense, but try to be a little less 'brutal' in the future. people tend to take things especially offensively on forums, and I can only imagine how an offensively intended comment could be taken.

Far-reaching generalizations like this concern me. An improperly tuned v8 (the most common kind) could get walked all over by any Civic Si that's in middling condition or better, while a well-tuned v6 could certainly eat a piddling l4. There are so many variables to consider, and you haven't cited any hard facts (such as ET times, whp, common setups, etc) so I'd say your statement would be best ignored. A kill story does not count as hard facts, by the way.

I don't know why you were thinking about jdm motors since this entire thread is about the b18a1 platform, which really can be obd0 or obd1. From now on, before you start ranting and raving and pointing fingers, make sure the person you're criticizing is actually wrong. I happen to know a thing or two about the b18a1 and the b18b, and would appreciate just a little respect (not just for me, but for anyone trying to help someone else).

brown guy,
keep up the good attitude! I can't count how many times I've linked to this already, but I wrote this article up awhile back, and it should point you in the right direction:
