It's a decent starting point for an LS/VTEC though, but that's assuming everything is in as good of shape as the seller claims...
 
if it's in good shape, i guess you could get it for $800. i would check the guy out. definitely run a vin check on it. call the state patrol and see if the tranny AND engine are stolen.
 
compression test it before you buy it
starter + jumper box + jumper wire + compression tester = put your mind at ease
 
screw that. theres no valve cover on it. that means they tried to fix something and gave up on it.

I hope my motor doesn't shit out before the end of summer, I want to be able to save up enough money to swap a b18c1 into it.

I was looking at a 94 hatch today, with a 96 jdm itr swap. I called, then met up with him and his "dad", I guess. Go to his house, than he tells me that it has bent valves. Its clean, He wants 3k. Im thinking about picking it up and fully building the head.

The point of this is simple, you never know what your getting into until you actually get it. Nine times out of ten, you run into problems. Noone is honest today, its terrible.
