So I'm starting my 240sx Build/rebuild thread. I'll post pictures when i get home.

A little background about the car. I bought the car about 3 years ago. I bought it as a project car for $700. Sold the front end pieces for $300 and sold the engine for $400. Sold the SE wheels for $250. Ok, I was up $250 out the gate. Dropped it off for the SR swap, RHD conversion, and silvia conversion. Got a good deal on it, or so I thought.

Guy finishes the car 6 months after he said he would. He took it to the street races, blew the engine and ran the piston up and down the cylinder walls. Had the importer split the cost of a new long block. He sold the new long block for profit and tried to repair mine. the engine blew shortly after i got it, and had to have it rebuilt. Got a full rebuild, new gti-r pistons, cometic HG, S15 nissan T28 turbo, lots of stuff. i'll post mods later.

December of 2006 i was going through the mountains, and noticed some snow. decided to turn around and go home. A snow plow was coming down the middle of the road. dodged to the right and caught the snow bank. it pulled me into the ditch and blew a headlight and caused some cosmetic damage. didn't really drive it. Finally this year i decided to fix it up. April 2008 it gets hit by a drunk driver in front of my house. Got $1500 and here I am. Ready to get it fixed.

I have 3 questions for today...

Will a ka24 fan shroud fit on an sr20det?

Should I buy some 350z/G35 wheels or something for under $500 to go on there and sell the TE-37's separate? or should i just leave the wheels on it?

Should I put the Kouki wing on and sell with the car or should i sell it to someone online?

The day I bought it...

Id leave the wheels on it, 300ZX hubs for the 5 lug conversion right? ANd why do you want to sell it, youll never get what you put into it and youll miss having it when its gone.

because i can sell it and get a 350z for about $7k more than i'm going to sell this for. I'm tired of getting harassed by cops. i want something new. something comfortable and low maintenence. i'm tired of the ricer flybys. i do get a lot of looks from older guys though. raced an audi one day though. one of the expensive ones. can't remember which one though.

it's actually an R32 rear end with 5 lug and vlsd and the front is off of an S15 with nismo pads. still the same size though.

I can almost visualize the money flowing out of your accounts.
it's been in chunks. $3k here, $4k there. $4500 another time. it's a lot of money when i look back at what i could have gotten, but i definitely don't just have a free-flowing account that goes into my car. i save up then put a lot into it.

I'll tell ya what really happened here,

All those mods, all that drift fun and all that power is NOTHING compared to the smiles that a simple, reasonable ride on the bike has to offer.

And you've lost interest :) I know man, I know. I'm there. All I want now is a Jeep to take out on rain and snowy days.

thats pretty much what happened. i had a civic and a bike. the nissan got ditched like a fat girlfriend.

I want something new, shiny, and clean for when it rains. If i had it my way, i would live in arizona and only own a motorcycle. i would work blue collar 40/hrs a week and just live a simple life. maybe in my next life. :(

I want to live in southern France, right on the coast, and drive an old diesel mercedes and a bike.

That car looks really clean, it must hurt to know you need to get rid of it for the betterment of mankind. I'd sell it for what you think it's worth, right now, then buy what you want. Pass the savings of a project car along to someone else. It's the honorable thing to do. ;)

well, with the damage, i might get $6k for it. if i invest the insurance money and my money, i'll get probably $11k for it. it's a better investment to just fix it up.

you honestly think you'll get 11k for it?
fixed, painted, running great, i'd be hard pressed to see it go for more than 8 to be perfectly honest....

the market here in the northwest is pretty inflated. nissans with s15 front and stock sr20's are going for $9k.

i figure rhd, 5 lug, and real te-37's should be able to fetch $9500. i'm happy with anything over $9k. but realistically it should sell for more.

:werd: everything here "import" car wise goes for a lot.

Haha, down at the track maybe. What kind of power does your car have?
with the mods it has, if i put in the time to do the tuning, it should be around 300hp and 270 or so tq. i just haven't put money into since the rebuild. it's on about 7lbs of boost right now. it can handle about 19-20. it's quick as it is, it should be pretty fast when i get done. hoping to get a run or two into the 12's on street radials, not even drag radials or slicks.

It would be nice to see a finished 240 for a change, I rarely see a nice 240.
