where do i find my engine number???

hi, i no its pro a stupid question but my engine has to be replaced and the only thing i can find on the car is a blue square plate nr the front of the car with a load of jap writing on it anf model zx and sumthin like dc1 . pleade help. its not a typr r jus a 1.6 single cam 16v.please help me:confused:
 
It's usually at the rear of the engine between the block and the tranny.

What kind of car are we talking about here? I'm assuming it's an Integra since you posted in the Integra forum? If that's the case then it's not a 1.6 single-cam, it's a 1.8 dual-cam...

Could also be a 1.6 if it's a first gen Integra or a 2nd gen Integra with a B16 (XSI or a swap). But yea, definitely a dual cam.
 
Yeah true. He said something about "DC" in the engine code though, so I assumed it was a a 94-01 Integra...
 
I think It is on the left side under the crank case, but if you look for the breather tube, it's just under that. Am I right? :)
 
front of the engine block, left of the header, right of the transmission. wow guys who cant be clear in your explinations...
